I picked this up on Freecycle a few years ago intending to put a node up, but never got around to it

If you can use it, let me know.

I had the same question and found this thread which was helpful. Seems like many have gone to AREDN. https://www.reddit.com/r/amateurradio/comments/cjseyc/broadbandhamnet/

I have just returned to the forum and noticed that there has been very little activity and even fewer updates..

Is this project dead? Has everyone moved to an alternative?

Topic : USA Tunnel to the UK

Hi,

I now have two Mesh Nodes setup and active here on the west coast of the UK Mainland (M3IRJ-1 & M3IRJ-2). If anyone from the USA is interested in helping to setup a Tunnel to the UK, I would be happy to hear from you.

Topic : Hamchat 404 The requested URL was not found...

Today I have installed Hamchat 0.1 on my Linksys. Install went fine, but when I try to browse to it using the specified link, all I see is a 404 error page.

The requested URL was not found on this server.404 Not Found.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

All sorted now! I had downloaded the incorrect firmware file. As this router had already been flashed once, I simply needed the *.trx file, and not the *.bin file. Rookie mistake, Thanks.

Topic : Issue when flashing from older version

As a complete beginner, I have just purchased a WRT54GL v1.1 which already has already been flashed with OpenWrt Backfire 10.03.1 / LuCI 0.10.0 Release (0.10.0).

When I try to reflash it using the bbhn-3.1.0-wrt54g-2.4-squashfs.bin, the following error message is displayed, and nothing happens:

'The uploaded image file does not contain a supported format. Make sure that you choose the generic image format for your platform.'

Also, when I connect to the router, it is still on 192.168.1.1, and cannot be connected to using localnode:8080/.

Any help or advice on how to flash the router with the latest (supported for this model) firmware would be greatly appreciated.

The email seems to be cancelled and the posts seem to be old.

I am trying to resuscitate some previous HSMM system I built several years ago.

Thanks!

Topic : Wow, no problem.

I want to thank the people who wrote the software and the documentation.

I was able to install new firmware into my WRT54GL without any problems. It just plain worked like it was supposed to. I bought a second WRT54GL and installed it there as well, and each unit can see the other.

My biggest problem now is that I'm too far away from anyone else here in the Charlotte, NC area, so my mesh is only my two nodes. I'll be ready when a neighbor sets one up.

Thanks again for software and documentation that just plain worked.

Subject :Ubiquiti Bullet M2 , selected access point and now I can't get back in....Help

Hi all, I have a Ubiquiti Bullet M2 that was working fine  and after I selected the access point setting

I can't get back in. so far I have tried a pushing the reset switch under the bullet for 3-7 seconds

and try again to log in with the following http://localnode:8080 and no go,

also try to do a hard reset (more time holding the reset switch like 13-20 seconds)

and still no go. also try to Power off the bullet and hold the reset switch and power back on while holding

the reset switch and after waiting a while for the unit to come on the led lights keep flashing for a while

and then power off and back on and still no go, I think I did a hard reset to all the software but no go still.

can anyone help?

Thanks.

KI5HVG, good to hear! It's 8/17/2020 as I type this...a bit of a delay LOL! At the risk of sharing (one of) my email addresses in public, feel free to email me directly at k5hrvham@gmail.com if you'd be willing to coordinate and perhaps provide a little light Elmer-ing as I pick this project up again and try to get going with this aspect of amateur radio. 73 de K5HRV

the quickest way I know is if it is showing on wifi as BROADBAND-HAMNET-20-V3 connect through a second working mesh router. Or upload a .trx file.
